We found this place pretty randomly - looking for an open restaurant on a Sunday evening... and were totally impressed. Everything was delicious, and the "hot" spiciness was just perfect. The drunken noodles are absolutely my favorite, and their mango sticky rice is excellent as well. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant!

After teaching a class in SLC, our staff always ends the weekend with a dinner at Thai Garden. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the staff is very sweet and accommodating. The owner even remembered us from the month before! I always get a thai iced tea for the way home. Yum!

I have been to Thai Garden 3 times. I work in the 9th & 9th area so it is convenient. The service has been terrible each time, to the point of being laughable. The servers try to rush you out after you have waited for your food, water refilled, etc. Last night the peanut sauce tasted like cleaning solution was in it! Then I heard the next table complaining about their peanut sauce. I will never go back.

Food was very good. Very flavorful, though I cannot comment on authenticity. Service was ok, though nothing to write home about.

Thai Garden and Noodle House at 9th and 9th is a great place for delicious, fresh and flavorful Thai Food. The calamari appetizer was superb - lightly battered in tapioca flour and gently fried (so many other restaurants overcook their calamari to the point of being rubbery). The shrimp entree was also prepared just right, with the shrimp delicate yet spicy. Flavors were wonderful and fresh. The service was excellent - they kept my tea cup full and hot. The highlight was the fried bananas and coconut ice cream. The ice cream was scrumptious and textured with real shaved coconut - not just flavored with some extract. Definitely worth a trip to 9th and 9th to get great Thai Food at a great price in a charming neighborhood. Awesome!

I stumbled upon this little Thai joint after finding out I have an unspent Groupon I purchased a few months ago, and so I decided to use it before letting it expired. I had a rather rough time finding the place at first as the sign was not that noticeable and I was looking on 900S rather than 900E. The place is decorated like a large living in a house with a small house-sized kitchen and bathroom next to it. I get a home feeling atmosphere the moment I stepped inside. We had sampled the Combo Appetizer to start and Drunkin Noodles with Chicken for entrée. Among all the appetizers, I like the stuffed pastry with curry inside the best, the chicken satay is next. The fried tofu is just fried tofu... The egg rolls and cheese wonton are both pretty Americanized. The noodles was plated fairly well, and tasted ok. My only problem was the overly grease on the noodle surface. The service was friendly, maybe it was because we were the only table? The Thai Garden offered an experience between decent and average for me, and I'd like to explore other items on their menu.

Decided to go here after finding out our first choice is closed on Tuesdays. Definitely happy that we did come here! The weather was super nice so we decided to sit outside with a great view of the 9th and 9th neighborhood. Our waitress was super nice and suggested some stuff off the menu that she thought we would like. Between the 4 of us we ordered 4 different dishes: Drunken Noodles, Pad Prik King, Green Curry, and the fourth one I can't remember (sorry!) All of which were with tofu. My friend knew she wanted Pad Prik King which wasn't on the menu; however, after talking to the waitress she told us they would be able to make it for us. I really appreciated that they were able to make the dishes vegan (without fish or oyster sauce); although, I was warned that it would change the taste and authenticity of the dish. When the food came out we realized that there might be too much food on the table: the portions are HUGE! They nailed the spicy levels perfectly and nothing was too hot to handle. The food tasted delicious! There were condiments to go with it if we wished to doctor the meal: soy sauce, authentic really spicy chili flakes, jalapeno vinegar, and once again I can't remember the fourth one. Do not play around with the chili flakes! Overall the food was amazing, and I'll definitely be coming back for the drunken noodles! They might just be my fave in the valley so far. =)

What a waste of time trying to find this place. It is now closed! It is being remodeled for a new establishment.

This place is OK. Some of the dishes (i.e. the curries) are overly sweet and don't have great flavor to them. The noodle dishes had pretty good texture, but generally had the same problem as the curries. Service varies from nice to downright weird (we had a waiter tell us all kinds of old war stories about his "hardcore days when he used to get arrested/into all kinds of trouble"). I suppose that adds some charm to this place. Overall, there are a lot of alternative Thai options that offer more in the SLC area. Still, not a bad option for those already in the neighborhood.

Chicken skewers were a little dry. Flavoring was great and so was the sauce. Whatever they use for their salad dressing is amazing! I'd give the pad Thai 5 stars if my beef didn't taste weird. The quality wasn't bad, it just had that taste of blood in it, but it wasn't raw yknow?

I give this restaurant a 2-3. I used to work in a Thai restaurant and I think this place really lacks when it come to flavor. It's not that the food tastes bad it's just bland. Servers are always nice but it's not my Thai of choice.

  • Laura B.

I wish this place was awesome because like everyone, I love this neighborhood & it would be great to have an affordable & delicious restaurant there. I love Thai food and I think it's pretty easy to get it right as I've made some Thai dishes myself. The food here is bland, the chicken tastes boiled and gross, the sauces are runny. Need I say more? Someone help this conveniently located restaurant before it becomes an overpriced boutique like everything else in the area!

The only place in SLC that serves authentic thai noodles. sooooo good!

  • Skyler J.

I ordered the Massaman Curry and it tasted like they just threw the ingredients in the pot and warmed it up. The carrots and onions were raw, but even worst, the chicken was raw also! We were greeted by guy with a bad attitude and were told to "just sit somewhere". We never got checked on is see how our food was and we could overhear him being rude to the staff in the back. This is the third time we have eaten there and each time was worst than the last. Three strikes and your out!

Thai food is all about freshness & flavor. Their food seems fresh enough but the flavors were really off. The Pad Thai was a disproportionate helping of noodles with a few shrimp and raw carrots and sprouts with far too much nuoc mam & sugar. I'm pretty confident they also use ketchup to make the Pad Thai sauce. Pad Gra Prow is my go to and should be really flavorful and spicy. The vegetables were fresh but the sauce sucked. It was the same story with the curry.

Thank bajesus at least one thai place was open on Christmas! I called in my order which was a little difficult because I couldn't find an online menu for the restaurant. After working through that I ended up with wontons, vegetable tempura, chicken pad thai, and chicken pineapple rice. We also ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert. All of the dishes had great flavor. The noodles and rice were soft and cooked well. We got a side of peanut sauce that was very tasty...the consistency was odd, kind of like real creamy Jif. My only complaint was that the vegetable tempura was a little soggy but that may be due to the fact that it took us a while to pick up our order. The staff were sweet and very cordial.

My Aunt and one of her best friends are regulars at this place and wanted to take me as soon as I got to town. Once I saw curries on the menu I was stoked! True, authentic curry is hard to find and it's a craving I have had for a few weeks. I ordered the red curry with bamboo shoots, chicken and bell peppers. My only complaint is that there were only 2 pieces of chicken in it. The service was phenomenal as the owners sent out complimentary spring rolls since it was my first time.

Tom Kha was incredible and green curry was solid. Servers were incredibly friendly, helpful and generous.

Pretty good service, but food wasn't anything special. Wasn't too big of a fan of the thai iced tea. They were not willing to swap regular milk for coconut milk for my lactose free friend (despite everything on the menu containing coconut milk).

I love this little gem in Salt Lake. I have had a few dishes there and they were all good, but the duck curry was hands down the most amazing dish I've ever tasted!! I've never had anything like it and am now completely addicted. It is a must try!!

Thai Garden is an okay Thai restaurant. I like the location on 9th and 9th, but I'm not sure if I'd go back here again for Thai food. In comparison to other Thai restaurants, this one ranks a lower, but it is still decent and not bad if you are in the area. I had lunch here and the service was polite and there was no wait to get a table. The food came out fairly quickly too. I got a little salad and vegetable stir-fry and my friend had some red curry. The food was a good amount and was just más o menos in taste. Nothing less, nothing more.

Since my husband and I just moved to the the 9th and 9th neighborhood, we really wanted to like this place. We have gone a few times hoping it would get better, but it hasn't. Another reviewer, Sam S., is correct that the owner and chefs are Thai (I am as well); however, that does not necessarily mean that the food is going to be awesome. It is rather mediocre here. We tried different dishes during each visit and none thrilled us enough to come back. To start, we have tried the chicken larb and asked for spicy, but that didn't happen. It was also served only with sticky rice instead of sticky rice and cabbage/lettuce that should normally accompany larb. I don't know if this always happens here, but our sticky rice came out in saran wrap (meaning it was simply reheated). It should at least be unwrapped and plated before serving. We also had the fresh spring rolls that came with a "house special sauce." Any place that calls hoisin sauce "special sauce" and doesn't serve peanut sauce with spring rolls loses a star in my book. There is actually an extra $2 fee for a side of peanut sauce. It better be orgasmic, but alas, I'm not willing to pay to find out. Across visits, we have tried the duck curry, pad thai, lard naa, eggplant pork, and drunken noodles. None were as flavorful as Thai food should be. The eggplant pork was rather sad and for a dish that says eggplant, I would expect a lot of eggplant! The dish came mostly with bell peppers and the very slim pickings of eggplant were not thoroughly cooked. The service here is good and bad. The waitresses are all super nice, but were sometimes attentive and other times not. When it is busy inside and on the outdoor patio, the service is a bit poor. There didn't seem to be a system in place for who handles which tables. The servers just kind of go wherever so some tables may be ignored. There are often Groupon and Livingsocial deals for this place. I would recommend waiting for those before visiting and then you won't feel so bad for mediocre Thai.

Today is a sad, sad, sad day. I am SO disappointed to have put in a call for takeout, only to have discovered that this is now a different restaurant with an entirely new proprietor and staff. Thai Noodle Garden was one of my all-time favorite places. What a drag.

This place is now called Take Nine. You can no longer order Thai food. It's american food like burgers and steak. only one thai dish remains on the menu.

I really enjoy the Thai Garden & Noodle House at 9th and 9th because the food quality is always been great, and the friendly and welcoming staff and hostess are always happy to see you. The lunches are great, complete with a side salad to start and a super value at around $8 you can't beat the value. Everything is served quickly and hot. I've asked them to make some items spicy, some medium and some items mild and everything has been spot on. They use a rice combination I hadn't seen before, part white and part whole grain. I'm not a fan of whole grain, but the mixture was a great way to introduce better flavor and health value without being too much.

The servers are beyond friendly. We have been coming here almost twice a month for the few years. The servers have treated us with the same friendly manner since the first visit. The only difference is that they now know our names and our orders. The food is absolutely delicious! I am constantly comparing other Thai food to this place and few have come close. I recommend this place to all of my friends and family and is definitely on top list of favorite restaurants. I don't know what I love more between the servers or the food. The combination of the two makes this place so amazing.

I don't understand who anyone can complain about the quality or authenticity of the food at Thai Garden. The owner and primary chef is from Thailand and she knows Thai food! Her first restaurant was Thai Garden on 4500 South in Murray. Then she opened this restaurant in the 9th and 9th area and finally she opened a restaurant in Sandy. After a few years of being much too busy she decided to focus her efforts on only one restaurant and sold the other locations. But not this 9th and 9th location, this is her one and only restaurant, and she works hard to make it great. We ate here the other night for dinner and enjoyed a delicious meal on the outdoor patio. Besides the occasional smoker walking by it was a very pleasant dinner on a summer evening. The service was friendly and on the spot and as always the food was delicious. Now before you accuse me of bias or suggest I am simply inexperienced with Thai food, let me first tell you that I have eaten Thai many, many times including many times in Utah and in California. I have been to some great restaurants and some not so great. Thai Garden is great. If you had a bad experience once please go back and give them another chance.

Delicious food and beverages. Casually dressed. Great for dinner and lunch. Staff is very polite and sweet. The only thing is that it was a bit slow when i went there but other than that it was delicious!

Vegan Thai food is pretty hard to screw up, but Thai House mastered this technique. I ordered a veggie Thai peanut dish that was so gross, I literally ate three bites and only packaged it as take-out as my friend said she could fix it at home and eat it for lunch the next day. The peanut sauce was way too sweet, to the point of being overpowering and gross with the veggies, which were overcooked and not good. I will not ever go back.

Some of the best Thai food around. This is my favorite area to eat in. Pad Thai is the best still. Servers are nice. Wish the lighting was better.

I am beyond impressed with the quality of the food. I started with a hearty serving of fresh rolls and smothered it in their delicious peanut sauce. Within minutes came me second item. I ordered the Tom Yum Sen Yai at a medium spice(the Thai done good around when it comes tho heat...woohaa!). Every bite down to the last drop was lip snacking. Out of curiosity I had to try the Pad Himmapran (chicken, pineapple, onion, cashew, and savory sauce) and my taste buds were surely pleased....not to mention my Singha (the Thai beer). Service was impeccable, quick and efficient. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised with the neat and contemporary remodel. I will definitely be coming back!

  • Christian R.

Very mediocre Thai. I ordered the lunch special. The dish I had was too salty. The peanut tofu and vegetables were doable. When I first showed up the server made me feel rushed even though I am vegan and wanted to scope out the menu. He at least answered my questions honestly. Overall, I think I'll walk across Liberty Park to Tasty Thai or head into Murray to the Tea Rose.

Just go there. Walk in and find Waiter Patrick. Tell him to bring you something good. Don't even ask the name of it. Just ask him to bring it and then dig in to delightful and subtly flavored thai food. The service staff are beyond lovely. The prices are great. And they have an 8 dollar lunch special that is 2 items plus rice and salad. What's not to love? We will be back next week!!

Delicious food at a very reasonable price. Family owned and operated. Received an award for best new restaurant in SLC in 2006. One complaint would be that the restaurant is just one big open, square room. If there aren't many parties inside then you can hear what everyone is saying. Good for a casual lunch or dinner with friends on a budget.

Sauces and portions are not as good as they are at other places like Sawadee. A little expensive. Great service.

I love this place! Here's the downside: I love the noodle dishes SO MUCH it gets exceedingly difficult for me to even consider anything else. The broth of the noodle dishes is INSANE. Often replicated (including by me), but yet to be duplicated. I'm only afraid that the appeal of the broth is the sweetness. I'm not a sugar eater and fear that I'm having an auto-erotic pleasure stimuli from sugar in the broth (I'd rather not know) :) Its reasonably priced, clean with great service. One of my favorites in SLC.

We are lucky to have quite a few great Thai places in SLC and this is certainly one of them. I've only had 2 dishes here but they were both great. Unlike some other Thai places, there food doesn't seem watered down and has a ton of flavor. The staff is nice, and it's in a great area. What more could you ask for?

    (4)
  • Ashlee B.

This place great! I live right down the street and come in as often as possible. always fresh and tasty. Although some of the staff could be a little friendlier. Still a great place to go!

  • Karen B.

The good: We LOVED the calamari, panang and spicy fried rice. What we didn't love was the quality of the chicken in the stir fry dishes. The flavours and sauces and veggies were all great. There was a great selection of veggies as well - esp. in the curry, which all too often can be completely lacking in the veggie department. But the chicken was REALLY disappointing. It tasted overcooked, dry, and had that "on the verge" taste. If the chicken was better, this place would be one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to.

I decided that it was finally time for me to check out one of the many new Thai restaurants that have recently opened up in the area, so I headed over here for lunch one fine Friday afternoon. The first thing I noticed was that they were not having a grand opening, but rather an AWESOME OPENING. Yes, that's what it said on the sign. Awesome. I walked inside and was impressed by the interior. The hardwood floors were a nice touch. There weren't too many people there, so the service was pretty fast. I had the pad khing and my dining companion had the gang dang. Both dishes came with a salad with a very tasty ginger dressing. We both enjoyed our dishes very much, though I think mine could have used a little more kick to it. However, it is Utah. Also, they brought out our entrees before we were done with our salads, but that's a minor complaint. The prices were very good, the location is convenient, and parking isn't horrible. I think I'll be coming back to try some of their noodle dishes in the future. It's excellent to see some new dining options in the 9th and 9th area.

Second time here for me. One dinner, one lunch. Both were very good. This time I had the luncheon special of pork and veggies, don't remember the name but it was really tasty. Also tried the mango rolls and the mango sticky rice with black rice. OMG! That dessert is to die for. Servers are very friendly and efficient.

I went to Thai Garden for lunch with a party of a dozen. There was another large party there at the same time but the service was excellent regardless. The owner of this restaurant is very sweet and the servers were all quite friendly. I don't know how "authentic" this Thai food is but then I'm not one to get all snooty about authenticity. If something tastes good it tastes good, authenticity be damned. Everyone enjoyed their dishes which were quite varied, and some who shall remain anonymous overate because the food was so tasty (sigh, I have no willpower).

Positive... the food was good and had a great time with friends. BAD...I ended up doing a server's job! We were a group of 12. When we asked for separate checks, the white, late 30's, heavy weight (husky) round man gave me a pen, a calculated and a paper! Really?! We all asked the man if we can pay as we go, so each person can tell you what they bought etc. He said "no, we don't do that." He gave me the receipt, with no title of what each food cost, what was tax, what was the "tip", nothing. He just gave us a piece of paper with numbers. We asked for his attention several times. We all ended up working and figuring what every person bought and what each number stand for. We even had to ask for a menu. So, being the good one with numbers, I spent 35 minutes separating the check, tax and 18% "gratitude"! After working on it and having everyone pay, with a 6% tax, because that is what he told me, the bill was short. I ended up finding that the tax is really 7.8%! I ended up paying that extra 1.2% tax! I told the man if I can get a discount for doing his job he replied "See, now you understand why I don't do this." What a jerk! I told him, "You are the professorial. I am here to pay you. You lost a client." Then he said "well there is the owner, talk to her if you like." I did. The kind woman was there, sitting with a young boy. I went up to her and said "Excuse me, I want to say your food was delicious and we all had a good time, however, I had to work to divide everyone's checks. This is very unprofessional. I shouldn't be doing this." I showed her my two pieces of napkins with all the math. Then the guy and another woman came up saying, "oh you should have just divided everything by 12." I told all three, "That is not wise because some spent $7 and others spent $15. It is not fair for them, especially since many are collage students, to have one spend more that what one ate." Then, after many excuses of what I should have done, the owner said "thank you and asked what do suggest?" I said, "Yes! Thank you for asking. I think it would be courteous if your server can inform a big group that checks cannot be separated. It doesn't hurt, especially since we are all new." Then the man says, "It's on the menu!" I told him "I did not see that, it's my first time here and it wouldn't hurt to mention it, especially since almost all restaurants do separate checks or "pay as you go." He said, "have you ever worked at a restaurant before. I have for 20 years!" I said, "Does it matter? This is called curiousness and good customer service." I also made other suggestions that I sincerely shared and told the owner, "You can take it or leave it, it is my suggestion." The male waiter interrupted again...let's just say he definitely showed his lack of professionalism too many times. Finally, when all said was done, another woman came and said "next time you should have each individual come to the register, tell me what they had and I could have done the tax and gratitude." The male waiter was not there when she said it. I called for the waiter and had her repeat what she said. Then they went off to a small argument. The owner apologized. Too bad it ended like this. We liked the food but the rudeness and lack of professionalism is not worth it. None of us are coming back. I sincerely wanted to help. Money comes and goes but bad manners and rudeness, that is hard to change in a person.

I'm not sure how long after this opened we visited, but it seemed like they were in some state of remodel. The server was ok, but needed more work and the entrees, coming as they did with us fresh off a visit of Thai Siam on State Street, while ok in their own right, did not compare at all to that recent memory and were, in fact, wanting comparatively. The portions were also a bit smaller than I liked and the drink selection also could have stood more improvement. What decor there is I liked quite a bit and I could see this becoming a very pleasant way to spend some time. As it was, we haven't made our way back, not living close enough to walk and generally not finding it good enough to contend with the parking in that area. I don't think we'll be chancing it again anytime soon, either, especially since it struck me as about average and not much beyond that and the irritation I had at the wait staff we had assigned (who had some real trouble understanding a fairly simple request for the tea that most of the other places seem to somehow handle with ease) didn't put me in the most forgiving mood. I will say, though, that I wouldn't necessarily outright reject it either; I just don't see me going to it of my own volition probably ever again.

We had a groupon for this place and I would absolutely go back. It was good thai food and I had a blast sitting outside. The 9th & 9th location is a huge perk too - all the fun little shops (and dessert places) you can check out afterward are awesome.

Giving a poor review is so bittersweet...I don't want fellow yelpers to go enthusiatically into the trenches without a fair warning, but I also dislike being harsh for the sake of the business owners who hope to run a successful business. The 9th & 9th neighborhood is one of my favorites (said the NJ native who has lived in Salt Lake for 9 months!). I love the vibe in this area and the Thai Garden has completely missed the mark here. The place lacks any sort of ambiance and the food did not make up for it at all. The curries, masaman and yellow, were watery and lacked flavor and the pad thai was very bland. I don't know if they had a bad day but I will definitely not be back to see if that were the case.

I love Thai. Its a toss up for me between here and Tea Rose. Both exceptionally delish and great service. Little bit more expensive here, but you have nice outdoor seating and gelato just a hop away. SO GOOD, must go before you die to-do list :) Love it here!

I cannot imagine serving this food to any of my family in Thailand. Were I to cook this for my mom she would probably shame me in a way only Asian moms can. "What this? You give me oyster sauce noodle? Make again!" Pad see-ew is probably one of my favorite dishes ever. I've been eating it since I first developed adult teeth and I know exactly how it's supposed to taste. I'm not sure what I was served here. Some sort of abomination. I'm embarassed for them.

I stormed in here after a failed charity event at Pago. It was a failed event because at the end of it I wanted my donation back and better food. (**Note to the Pago management: don't host charity events until you learn how to host charity events. Restaurant Management 101 at Stevens Henager College has space available.**) So with that frustrated attitude I walked into Thai Garden. I really wanted to like this place. The two women who waited on me were so nice! And I really love 9th & 9th. However, Thai Garden was an epic fail for me. My first comment is about the soundtrack. The manager has found the Thai version of Peggy Lee and has that shit on repeat! It's what my grandparents would listen to if they were Thai (or still living). My standard Thai restaurant test-meal is an app + Massaman curry. You know how that dumb bird is koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs? That's how I is for Massaman. They sneak potatoes into the damn thing? How is that not going to make my Anglo-Saxon ass happy? Well, the Massaman at Thai Garden is not even as good as I make at home with curry paste and coconut milk. In fact, mine was better...and it's cheaper than $11. Their curry had no spice and no richness. It was coffee shop Massaman, if there is such a thing. The tofu tawt (fried tofu app) was good, but the bar is low for a dish like that. With sooooooooo many Thai options in town I will not be returning to Thai Garden.

This is great Thai food. I have been to many Thai restaurants and this is definitely one of the better ones. There duck is amazing so tender. Their peanut sauce is not the best I have had better a couple of other places but it still very yummy. Their Tom, Tom coconut soup is the best we have every had at any restaurant. We have gone to this one more than any others we like the lunch menu we like the serving sizes. The service is good. The parking sucks but that is what you get from 9th and 9th.

Good fresh vegies. I liked that my curry dish was very spicy (the second curry listed on the menu). I would be more inclined to visit again if they offered brown rice (pure brown rice, not just a little mixed in with the white) and rice noodles made from brown rice. The decor was very nice and the restaurant seemed very clean. Prices seemed very reasonable - most entrees $10-$13.

I've been here a few times before and the only time I've had a sour experience was when a blonde, middle aged, heavy waiter was serving us, ignoring our table other than the one time he brought our food. I've heard other people complain about him before, so I hope Thai Garden does itself a favor and gets rid of him for better reviews. Anyway, he was nice to the other tables, but he'll be cold if you make him work more than just bringing food to your table. We had a groupon and he failed to mention that it's only valid for dining in and had to have a table set once we got our food in order to use the groupon that we paid for. Other than that, the food is wonderful and the other servers are an absolute charm, especially the Asian ladies. If you're vegan or vegetarian, they have plenty of dishes that are already meat-free or can be adapted to have no animal products at all. Great environment and neighborhood near 9th and 9th.

From the varying reviews here on yelp, it looks like this place is pretty hit or miss. Unfortunately, it was a miss for me. I ate here with two friends and we ordered a reasonable array of items among the three of us - fresh spring rolls, two soups, pad thai and drunken noodles - but none of us were pleased with our meals. The pad thai in particular was visually unappealing: thin noodles drenched in an oily bright orange sauce that my friend reported was much too sour for her liking. The other dishes were more deceptive. My drunken noodles looked tasty but barely had any chicken and were incredibly bland ... not even "not spicy" bland (though I had asked for it moderately spicy and found it to be beyond mild), but "this doesn't taste like much of anything" bland. The spring rolls also looked fine (aside from arriving atop a bed of spring mix that had clearly started its day in a plastic bag), but left our third diner wondering with every bite how they were so unsatisfying. She also reported that the taste and consistency of her soup (I forget the name, but it was coconut milk based) were way off, and gave up after two spoonfuls. There are positives here: the service as quick and friendly (except for the 20 minutes it took to get our check and pay), the Thai iced tea was delicious, and the interior is quite nice and bright. Any maybe their curries are better? Still, I kind of can't believe that we spent almost $50 on food that was just ... bad. I'm glad there are so many other Thai options in town, because this one is off the list.

If you love Thai food, eat here. If you don't love Thai food, still eat here because it's phenomenal. Thai Garden has delicious and pretty close to the authentic Thai food that I have eaten in Thailand several times. I order from here so often that they recognize my family and even recognize my voice sometimes on the phone which we like.. The staff is super friendly even though we tend to be picky when it comes to ordering. They spend time with us and are more than willing to answer our questions. The food is always amazing. I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants in Salt Lake, and this is by far my favorite. It may be the best Salt Lake Thai restuarant i've been to, Try the Panang curry which is pretty spicy but yummy for your tummy, Pad prik phing or pork spare ribs are all yummy. All my family likes it. Try it all and none of it should let you down. I typically go for dining to spend time with our family and chat with our servers about Thai culture and food. This provides us with a nice enjoyable experience.

I had wandered past here a few weeks ago after a visit to some of the local stores and made a mental note to come back and try the food another time. Tonight was the night- and MAN! Sooooo glad I did! I had my little boy with me and my plan was to share dinner with him... so I couldn't get too adventurous. We started with the Chicken Satay (Excellent!) He went into cave man mode and devoured 2 skewers himself! Then, I followed up with the N8 noodle bowl. There is something about the broth- a little bit homey, a little bit exotic and very, very good. It's was the perfect thing for a slightly stormy day. The service was very quick and courteous- no small talk here. The place is very clean as well! Parking could be tricky given it's right smack dab in the middle of 9th and 9th, but a pre and post dinner walk is always nice.
